In the last 100 years since we’ve been in business, there’ve been some great leaps forward in technology – especially in aviation.

In 1927, Charles Lindbergh soloed across the Atlantic – 1969 saw the United States put a man on the moon, and last, but not certainly least, in 2004, Blanchard and Calhoun agent Richard Ret landed a hot air balloon in a North Augusta backyard.

That’s right. Ret, a ballooning enthusiast, often used his love for the pastime to promote his listings and sales. On this occasion, he’d participated in the Boshear’s Skyfest at Daniel Field, eventually emergency landed miles away on West Clifton Avenue across the river. Of course Richard, who was married to a physician, would say in his ads “My wife may be the doctor, but I make house calls.”
