Tradition runs strong in the Blanchard family tree. Attending Richmond Academy, naming our sons Thomas, brides wearing the same wedding veil, fishing, vacationing on Edisto Island … these are some of the shared experiences that connect our youngest generation to the oldest. That same sense of tradition is deeply embedded in the Blanchard and Calhoun family of businesses. Our original lines of business – real estate, insurance, and loans – are our current lines of business. Our values of working hard, being nice, and treating people fairly have persisted for a century. We maintain an office on Broad Street, just blocks away from the building our founders occupied in 1919. And, a whole bunch of us still wear red socks, a fashion statement that originated with our second president, Tom Blanchard, Sr. We’re not old fashioned, but we are true blue – staunch, loyal, and unwavering in our commitment to the things we believe in … and that includes doing the right thing always for our customers and clients.
