Making our industry better has been a corporate commitment for Blanchard and Calhoun from day one.

Founder George Blanchard was secretary and treasurer of Augusta’s first life insurance underwriters group. His partner, Francis Calhoun, was the second president of the Georgia Association of Realtors, formed in 1920 to promote and maintain the highest standards of conduct in the transaction of real estate. Our founders’ commitment to ensuring the professionalism of our industry is something that has persisted. Over the past century, many Blanchard and Calhoun staff and agents have held leadership positions in real estate, mortgage, and insurance trade organizations. Presently, Ash Smith of Blanchard and Calhoun Insurance is the vice president of the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia. Dennis Smith, one of our real estate agents, is the president of the Greater Augusta Association of Realtors. Countless others are working on boards and committees – locally, statewide, and nationally. Why do we serve? Because closing a deal is great, but only if you do it with integrity.
